Cornucopia of Produce

This cornucopia of produce is inspired by the wonderful pattern illustrations of Bannarot. Currently we take classes together at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He is a Thai illustrator who loves to draw the places he travels as well as pugs! You can check out his work at Bannarot.com or on Instagram @Bannarot.

Cornucopia is a 6x8" drawing using fine artist paper, pens, markers and colored pencil.

A Craving to Draw Arugula

Since starting to create food art I've been getting hit by the desire to draw specific fruits and vegetables. Much like one gets cravings to eat foods! It feels fulfilling to create the artwork and then the desire dissipates.

Arugula leaves feature poetic shapes that I felt a craving to draw in a new artwork. The stems twist, curve and intertwine in beautiful, natural ways.

This is a 6x8" drawing using fine artist paper, pens, markers and colored pencil.

First Post: Artichoke

This is the first official post on the new Healthy Food Artist blog! I look forward to posting more and showing some of the art I've been creating.

For now, here is a drawing of an artichoke showing both the inside and the outside. This was inspired by a request from a work friend.

I used marker, pen and colored pencil on Strathmore paper to draw this.
