Tools of the Trade

Recently I drew this collection of art supplies. It made me think of the biggest similarity between art and healthy eating...color!

I've been very busy lately, piling on responsibilities. However, when I was drawing this, I felt calm and peaceful. That is when I enjoy art most. Sometimes it is an oasis amidst everything else that is going on. A time for me to separate from urgent concerns.

This drawing of art supplies is 9x12" using quality materials. If you would like to purchase this artwork or commission a unique one email me: thehealthyfoodartist@gmail.com.

Inspired by Dr.Fuhrman: GBOMBS

Today's piece of art is a conceptual illustration based on the acronym GBOMBS. It stands for:

Greens

Beans

Onions

Mushrooms

Berries

& Seeds

What makes these types of foods so special? They are uniquely endowed to fight against cancer and various deadly illnesses. This knowledge is thanks to Dr. Joel Fuhrman, creator of the nutritarian diet. A way of eating that prioritizes nutrient density for achieving maximum longevity.

I am so excited this illustration is finally a reality after holding the idea in my mind for a long time. I hope it creates the impression of these types of foods blowing up like a bomb, eradicating harmful diseases.

Naturally Creating Art

One reason I love creating healthy food art is because it is a natural extension of my lifestyle. I always have fruits and vegetables around to eat. That is how this drawing of vine tomatoes came about. I simply looked in the fridge for something appealing to draw. I decided on these tomatoes for their vibrant color.

Vine tomatoes is a 6x8" drawing using fine artist paper, pens, markers and colored pencil.
