Naturally Creating Art

One reason I love creating healthy food art is because it is a natural extension of my lifestyle. I always have fruits and vegetables around to eat. That is how this drawing of vine tomatoes came about. I simply looked in the fridge for something appealing to draw. I decided on these tomatoes for their vibrant color.

Vine tomatoes is a 6x8" drawing using fine artist paper, pens, markers and colored pencil.

This cornucopia of produce is inspired by the wonderful pattern illustrations of Bannarot. Currently we take classes together at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He is a Thai illustrator who loves to draw the places he travels as well as pugs! You can check out his work at Bannarot.com or on Instagram @Bannarot.

First Post: Artichoke

This is the first official post on the new Healthy Food Artist blog! I look forward to posting more and showing some of the art I've been creating.

For now, here is a drawing of an artichoke showing both the inside and the outside. This was inspired by a request from a work friend.

I used marker, pen and colored pencil on Strathmore paper to draw this.
